EDC SME Annual Conference - 25th September 2013

Small and growing businesses (SGBs) play vital role in the growth of any economy.

In Nigeria, they are the drivers of economic growth and their impact is immeasurable.

Presently, SGBs as the bedrock of the nation provides employment to over 30 million Nigerians.

Annually, Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University brings together SGBs, public and private stakeholders to come together and discuss topical issues that affect the sector.

The 2013 SME conference will hold on the 25th of September 2013 at the Sheraton Hotel and Tours.

At the conference, delegates will have the opportunity of listening to seasoned speakers with expertise on various fields as they talk on the various topics. 

Some of the Speakers are: Obi Ezeude – Beloxxi Biscuit, Helen Emore – Warri Industrial Park, Chima Nnadozie – Diamond Bank, Oludare Talabi – Talion Capital

As part of EDC’s mission to encourage, foster the growth and provide networking activities for SMEs in Nigeria, an annual SME Conference holds every year which brings giants in the public and private sector, members of EDC Business Network and other SMEs together to discuss topical issues, interact and share experiences.  This helps to build strong relationship among SMEs by providing a platform for the continuous development of the small and growing community in Nigeria and beyond.

In 2010, the theme of the conference was ‘Building Credible SMEs in tough times’ which addressed issues on credibility and sustainability of SMEs.

In 2011, the theme was 'Infrastructure-Key Challenges for SMEs'. The sessions were designed to help streamline the needed support for the growth of Small and Growing Business amidst the various economic challenges and also to highlight the role of Government in stimulating growth in the SME sector.

In 2012, the theme was 'Expanding Market Frontiers - Restructuring for Growth' emphasising the need for SMEs to stay competitive and productive in challenging times and building relationships with individuals and institutions for growth and expansion.

This year, the theme is 'Model, Market and Money- Positioning your Organisation'.         

There will be three sessions:

  • What Model is right for your Business? 
  • Innovative Approaches to expanding Financial Access 
  • Conversation with the CEO  


The 2013 SME conference comes up on the 25th of September at the Sheraton Hotel and Tours, Ikeja, Lagos. Registration is still on!
